About Arctic Food Equipment
Mark McCartney founded Arctic Refrigeration in 1994. Mark left Tulsa with a service truck and 16 years of managerial and technical experience. Working from his home, he began driving up and down major roads in Springfield, knocking on doors and offering coupons to new customers until someone needed repair work. Since Mark founded the company, Arctic has been dedicated to providing fast, reliable service and is committed to operating with integrity. Mark now has over 40 years in the industry and has grown Arctic from one to 18 service technicians, servicing the greater Springfield area.
In 2000, Arctic moved from Mark’s home to its first location in Springfield. The new location provided enough space to expanded operations to include sales of new and used commercial food equipment and front-of-house items. Adding a robust sales division, Arctic Refrigeration became Arctic Food Equipment, now offering all types of kitchen supplies, food equipment and everything needed to operate a restaurant. Sales rapidly grew and in 2003 Arctic moved to its current location at 1501 S. Enterprise. Arctic is open to the public. We also boast a 10,000 sq ft showroom, test kitchen, and an outside sales team.
Mark’s son, Nathan, officially joined the Arctic team in 2018; though he has been around the family business since he was a kid, spending summers helping during high school and college. Nathan spent 11 years in the Air Force, earning his bachelor’s degree from the Air Force Academy. He went on to earn an MBA while stationed in Mississippi. After leaving active duty in 2016 Nathan started a household goods moving company. Nathan handles marketing and sales for Arctic. He is excited for the chance to return home and the opportunity to continue the family tradition of excellent service and customer focused business.
